I am fascinated by clothing and patterns in particular. A garment can set the scene for a story, so I chose to do that here in the literal sense. Fantasies for me consist of the, “I want to go off to a far away land…” and can lead down a trail of numerous thoughts I get consumed in. The first garment, a 1960’s dress from Ritual Vintage, made me fantasize about the daydreams I have all the time about wanting to be somewhere else, a sort of fantasy place for me. The following garments, a 1970’s Playboy Playmates blouse from Retroland Vintage and lingerie set from Free People, made me think of my fantasies of desire. The final garments, shorts from Undercover and a jacket and gloves from Free People, made me think of the darker fantasies I can have when I get upset.

Ellen Wallinger is a senior at the University of South Carolina. She will be graduating this December with a degree in advertising and hopes to become an account manager. The thought behind her Instagram name, mademoisellen, is that she is fluent in French and hopes to move to France one day; she might even continue her education there!
